PASSING THE TORCH WORKSHOP

The Council of Senior Citizens’ Organizations of BC, supported by funding from New Horizons, is remounting the Passing the Torch workshop, which aims to develop leadership skills and ensure good governance is in place in organizations where older adults volunteer. If you are a Board member or a volunteer serving in any capacity in your organizations and are struggling with how to find volunteers, this workshop is for you.

By first addressing leadership skills and your organization’s structure, you will build a strong base to support recruitment and development of volunteers. By finding people to fill essential roles within your organization, you will enable longer-serving members to move onto new challenges.

This process allows for healthy growth and development for both your organization and the persons working within it as new ideas and knowledge are brought in.

Leadership - good leadership - is at the core of every successful organization. This workshop will include topics such as:

• Leadership, 
• Effective Organizations, 
• Volunteer Development, and 
• Resiliency in the Future. 

The event will be held on February 8th, 2023 from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm. Participants are welcome at 8:30 am for coffee. Lunch will be provided.
